Thank you Roger!
The .deb installed just fine and the CPU-usage is back in a normal range now.
So, again, thank you.
I still hope that 3.1.4 will be provided through the repositories though since
this problem persists with the older version.

I wonder if there's going to be an updated package, on my Kubuntu Intrepid
machine KTorrent is still Version 3.1.2 and the insane CPU usage makes using it
almost impossible.
Is it going to be updated to 3.1.4 in the repos?

I did some more testing. The Screensaver also kicks in if I use Gwenview's
slideshow feature.
However, it does _not_ start if I use Okular in fullscreen (presentation) mode.
I hope this helps.
Cheers.

Is your system running fine now? And could you perhaps post the contents

Same Problem for me. Noticed it first when I upgraded to KDE 3.5.9 on gutsy and

This is a complete show-stopper for me as well. I certainly can't upgrade my

I can confirm Geoffrey's workaround, de-selecting the automount works. But
after mounting the device manually, KDE can't eject the device. I have to
manually eject it with "sudo eject /dev/sd* ".
Although this works, it is rather annoying.

What happened to Martin is exactly what happened to me as well.
The eject-issue has been solved by adding the "disk" group to my user-
