I'm going to choose the simple option and just fix the packaging to

I have a fix in testing. Needs a little bit more validation. I'm

The lw-dump-machine-account command line was tool was deprecated and
removed with the introduction of the pstore tdb plugin. That said there
is no plan to support future releases of smbd running on top of lsassd.

Michael, WIth the obvious exception of the changelog update, the debiff
applied cleanly to
5.4.0.42111-1~ppa1~lucid in the likewise open development PPA. I'm testing a
build locally
and then will upload this to PPA assuming all goes ok. I'll ping you if I have
questions about
the new patches
Just tested the 5.4.0.42111-1~ppa2~lucid packages I'm uploading the likewise
PPA later today
and this works fine. gdm logins and sudo confirmed to work.

I get some delays when logging in by offline logons are confirmed to work in
the 5.4.0.42111-1~ppa2~lucid packages I'll be submitting for the first Beta.

nvm..the delays were caused by {pam,nss}_ldap on my system. Offline logons
appears to be working

The username is what it is due to Windows. Feel free to leave the bug open but
unless enabling
the AsssumeDefaultDomain option solves this for the host's primary domain there
is no
fix that will be done here. Technically the Krb5 libraries would need to
convert the DOMAIN\username
to a UPN int
