Same behaviour for me. Updated from 2.6.27-9 to 2.6.27-11 and the X-Fi
driver is missing. Would like to hear whether there's a better solution
than attempting to reinstall the drivers.

Fixed my issue by installing XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00 which is newer
than XFiDrv_Linux_US-1.18. Had to force Ubuntu to use "Creative ALSA
Driver X-Fi WaveOut/WaveIn (OSS)", or "OSS - Open Sound System".

I upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 and I have the user-selection enabled in
the login window. I select my username and enter the password, then the
login window reappears and I have to login again, before it works.

Solved my login issue: in the System->Administration->Login Window,
under "Security", I disabled the "Enable automatic login" option
