I don’t know if this should be a different bug or a note added here.
I have tried to setup Ubuntu 18.04 (bionic) server as a router. I was
trying to set it up with both IPv4 & IPv6 but the installation (dynamic)
would not allow me to get IP from my ISP after setup was complete. When

n the 2.9.3 version of Snort several output formats have been
deprecated, including Prelude support. However, it remains possible to
keep Snort as a Prelude agent through the use of Barnyard2, an open

Daniel:
Read my work around in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1303338, as Snort has
been modified and they are not planning to support Prelude you will have to get
baryard2 set up to get snort to work with prelude.
Unless things change this is how to get it to work. As baryard2 is not

I had to remove it from starting. But my system is running just fine. If
someone would post a change to AppAmor setting for the dhcp server then
you could restart it.
to stop it just:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop
sudo update-rc.d -f apparmor remove
when the upgrade gets made you can restart it.
How would you change the log file to get the whole error? That is all
the file contains.

Public bug reported:
I have upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04 (alpha), I'm making a router with
shorewall, isc-dhcp-server (v 4.2.4). Well I tried to use the DHCP
server and my clients try to get address I get the following error
message:
Jan 22 08:40:56 firewall dhcpd: Open a socket for LPF: Permission d
I found two work arounds:
1: is to reprovision samba 4 which allows you to change the NetBios
Domain name:
or
2: go in to the file and manually change the domain name
in my case example full domain name example.home
hope this helps those that have this problem
