Clean 9.10 Beta desktop install. Starting tightvncserver causes
keyboard mappings to be messaged up. "s" key shows as a "b". Same
problem as last 2 releases (still not fixed).

Following updates on August 22, 2008, the Gnome Terminal will not accept
a lower case 'a' key. Capital 'A' works fine, and the lowercase 'a' is
accepted in every other application on my desktop including Tilda.

I can replicate the problem as root, but not as another user.
That said, it appears to be a settings issue where the update or another
action screwed up some settings for gnome-terminal somewhere.

I'll go one better.
Before I even attempted to report this to you, I uninstalled Firefox
completely and reinstalled.
Once it was reinstalled and the problem appeared to be in the
application, I uninstalled again, went through and deleted all mozilla
and firefox related folders in my home folder,
DO I NEED TO EXPLICITLY SAY I DIDN'T INSTALL ANY!
Read the details above and you should realize that I didn't install any
extensions on my last two tests.
Extensions are installed in the mozilla and firefox related folders
under my home folder and under /usr/lib. Both of which were explicitl
It is as if the default sort order (A-Z by Package Name) only applies
when not searching and searching uses it's own sorting order.
I suspect that the search module is not sending the search results
through any sorting routines and is instead returning things in the
order in which they are found.

I just ran into this issue on my x86_32 box (Gateway M460) when I
upgraded to libc6-2.6.1-1ubuntu10 in Gutsy.
I just built the box from scratch yesterday using the Alternate install
CD, loaded some additional programs (Java, Azureus, ATI restricted
driver, etc...) and did
sudo apt-get update
QEMU also experiences this problem when running under Feisty (all
updates applied) as of 05-30-2007.
Additionally, I attempted an upgrade to QEMU 0.9 and the problem still
exists.
Virtual Machines attempted are Windows XP SP-2, Red Hat 8.0, Damn Small
Linux 3.01, Ubuntu 6.10

I ran into this problem twice myself. Once with update-manager and just
now when running Synaptic to install dia.
I tried to upload the crash report, but ran into the same 500 Server
Error when it seemed that the report was finished uploading.

It also appears that this is only on the first large dependency search
within the application. Almost like the apt-get update process which I
executed did not build the search cache, and after it built it, synaptic
forgot about it between invocations.
