Sure thing, these are all of the entries that happened during a bad
screen wakeup/login interaction. The only things I removed were
irrelevant Slack messages and a random string in the NetworkManager
message I didn't understand.
I'm just now noticing the gdm-password error. It does seem like that
I'm experiencing the same behavior as above. I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 and
the 3.13 mainline kernel.
I was able to find a workaround that let me control the backlight
brightness through the applet.
Create /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf with the following:
