Two steps ahead, one back :-/
After todays (22.4.2008) update, the network works just fine, but - now
there is no nVidia driver to enable ?!

I agree with Ubuntu Tofu.
- Network is up.
- Terratec Cynergy 400 does not (using saa7134).
- No nVidia driver available (to select).
- Sound is ok.
I have reportet a similar problem :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-
modules-2.6.24/+bug/220380 regarding the network card.
In pure desperation I :
- uninstalled the nvidia-glx-new and nvidia-kernel-common modules.
- Rebooted.
- Installes the modules again.
- Rebooted.
Now everything works ok.
