I had this problem after upgrading to intrepid from hardy as well.
Setting event_sounds to false, then logging out and back in, then
setting it to true again fixes the issue for me too. Very strange.

I built a version of libmutter with the patch in the linked GNOME bug
applied, but then I get a different crash when turning off the monitor.

I'm also experiencing this, and I also have a 4k monitor, although not
the same model as David. Mine is an LG 27UD58-B. It's hooked up to a KVM
switch and might be taking longer to come up than is normal, but I

It's quite annoying to be playing a flight sim and have my screen lock
for no apparent reason.
This is obviously a nice-to-have.

Oh, I should add this: the joystick I'm using is a standard USB stick.
Model: Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. If it matters, this happens when I'm
playing FlightGear.

I am up to date with the ghostscript packages listed above, but I am
encountering some variant of this bug. i.e. I get the
/usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftoraster failed error when I try to print (on my Canon
ix4000) certain pdf files (using acroread in this case). Are there any other
bug I should be
