I can confirm that this is still a problem on karmic. I just did a fresh
install in a VM last night, and the only way I can get proper user/group
perms is to use an old smb script that manually mounts the points with
smbmount, passing the standard options:
-o password=$PASS,username=oubiwann,uid=1
The latest dist-upgrade seems to have fixed the issue! I'll keep testing
it over the next couple of days, and if all looks good, we can close
this bug :-)

I have Lucid UNE running on an Aspire One. I did an update last week,
but didn't reboot until yesterday (March 19th). After the reboot, the
trackpad failed to work. Connecting with a USB mouse is the only way to
get a usable pointer.

I have just encountered this same error. Here's what happened:
1) I reset my alias in jabber
2) it didn't take effect, so I killed the empathy processes
(/usr/lib/empathy/empathy-chat and empathy)
3) I restarted empathy by clicking on the Unity chat menu
4) my new alias did show up in jabber, but
Robert Collins wrote that component, so I've assigned to him.

Hey Ara, there have been a lot of changes in Unity recently with touch.
Mark, John and Neil are working together to tune in the last minutes,
and Neil will have stuff for us early next week, at which point the
changes will be final. For real. Super-final.

of the Lenovo screen, especially in the center. This video shows the
