i don't think it's related to any chipset - ppl with all kinds of
chipsets face this problem, and i have tried virtually every intel tweak
i could find and none worked. this is what solved the problem for me:
sudo mkdir /etc/adobe
echo "OverrideGPUValidation=true" >~/mms.cfg
sudo mv ~/mms.cfg /etc
i'm also having a shutdown problem in intrepid ibex beta (updated 15
minutes ago)... the progress bar just hangs in the middle, and
afterwards i get just blinking "_" . if i try to turn it off by pressing
power button i get the progress bar hanging for a couple of seconds
again, and then i end up w
btw, the only way to turn it of i to reset it and power it down before
ubuntu is loaded. everything worked just fine in 8.04.

[i915GM] MTRR entry gets removed when restarting xorg
I'm experiencing it as well on Asus UL30VT (GMA 4500HD & Nvidia G210M,
Nvidia being turned off). Everything works OK when I turn off Compiz.
Although both video and 3D work ok, these glitches are much more
annoying then they seem at first sight. I'm really looking forward
seeing this fixed soon.
the same thing with canon lbp2900 - still not detected
