not installed, using nouveau. But no matter what Nvidia driver I use (or
install method) I cannot get the NVidia driver reinstalled properly.

At some point I was able to purge anything installed with *nvidia* in
it... reboot and get UI without `nomodeset` intervention. I then
installed `nvidia-driver-435` and have left it alone since then. I'll
try 440 again another time.

A followup. The most recent server update broke the 4.5 open client.
Good news, there *is* a 64 bit 5.0 linux client. The trick is, it is not (yet)

Tested in non-2D Unity, lag still happens.
Can get so bad that the window greys out just because the AI is thinking.
Did they remove an AI thread, or did the AI get a lot dumber?
It used to be even level 3 AI on this computer completed almost instantly.

Hey. I did a clean install of maverick beta on this laptop.
I noticed I had 2 battery indicators recently on my first restart after
full discharge of the laptop and was confused by this.
I discovered their names and googled for:
"indicator applet notification area redundant"
And found this bug.

I guess this bug was closed as invalid due to 2 sound controls.
I do not have that, but clearly something is up with the power
management widget which still appears in both. So in the goal of
eliminating one, or at least avoiding dupes, looks like power management

the amd drivers for my Radeon hd 8600 m series with the catalyst center.

So. I encountered this when VMWare View was completely unable to connect to our
view server using 14.04 LTS.
After digging through the log, encountered this bug report.
