On kubuntu Hardy Alpha 3, running from command line: "kdesu kino"
worked. Running from menu as installed resulted in the same error as in
the description

the install hangs.
Suspect it's related to the process who's CMD is "[01unmount_busy] ".

To try to debug the situation, I killed the "/bin/sh
/lib/partman/commit.d/01unmount_busy" process, which resulted in the
installer moving forward, but then returning to the "Prepare disk
space", step 4 of 7 window. Updated /var/log/installer/debug attached,
look at line 16009 to see the start of

When the Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha 2 cd got to the same point in the install, it
came back with:
The installer needs to commit changes to partition tables, but cannot do so
because partitions on the following mount points could not be unmounted:
/media/Backup\ VolumeVolume /media/ACOM\ External MacExter
I too confirm this bug on a fresh Hardy Alpha2 install.
