I have tested the fix and I now have wifi on the xps 13. The way I
tested was to start a live session install the .deb package in the live
session then trigger the install. The installed version then had the
ability to connect to the web.
On checking the installed system I can confirm that bcmwl
I can confirm that this fixes the issue. All the crash files created
had upload and uploaded files to match and the phone booted as expected.
Repeated the process 3 times each time it booted as expected \o/

1 Enable developer mode
2 from pc phablet-config writable-image
3 adb shell
4 sudo vim.tiny /etc/system-image/channel.ini
5 last 2 lines change the number to be back 10 images i.e. change the 195 to 185
6 sudo rm /userdata/.writable_image
7 rm .local/share/ubuntu-

Now and then an image will fail to flash everything looks good but the
image is corrupt. This leads to a gpg check on the phone failing and the
image not installing and a non functioning device.
If there is an issue it should throw up an error that asks the user to
remove .ca

This is not happening on Image 16 on the ubuntu-rtm/14.09 server I
assume that makes this a regression over all but I also assume that it
will be in image 270 which is 21 but I will confirm that after.

Tested 270 now and it crashes also. This is not a regression on the
released image.

The fact that it is working in the browser as expected but not in the
webapp makes me wonder if there was an api change between 1.3 and 1.4
and the web app framework is still using the 1.3 api calls.

Sergio the recovery only unlocks adb access I don't think it handles gpg
untrusted too is there no way the tool can handle that part?
