I have just tried latest daily kernel
3.5.0-999-generic_3.5.0-999.201206260421_amd64 but no different for card
reader.
Detailed test results:

freezes when screen goes blank

I have installed latest upstream kernel and system would boot, but 3D causes
system to freeze with default driver. Install of Nvidia proprietary driver
fails.
When running checkbox-gtk with this kernel whole machine freezes when it comes
to test 3D graphic - which is before USB disk test.

I went back to disabling acpi, as only feasible option to use this
laptop.
with either nvidia drivers or development kernel, it kind of works
(laptop doesn't crash when power supply is unplugged) but closing laptop
lid (even with suspend disabled) is crashing laptop.
Suspend doesn't work in any o
googling lunchpad I can see the similar Bug #454402 reported in

I just did another test and have installed proprietary Nvidia drivers
(version current) through Jockey and on current kernel 3.2.0-45-generic-
pae and it also seem to help with ACPI.
