The about box works for me (but on a i386 architecture).
If you run gnumerics from the command line, then try to select the about
menu option, do you get any error that could explain your problem?

That typo is present in both Dapper and Edgy. Interestingly, there is
a Debian bug about it, but it was closed and marked fixed in March 2006
in a version older than the one we have in Edgy. So it seems that the
Debian patch got lost somewhere...

I have the exact same version of Firefox than you. I followed your
instructions, but the filename doesn't disapear for me. Weird.I

stopped working in Dapper due to a regression in gutenprint. But
reportedly it is now fixed in Edgy. Also if you look at some of the

Since I'm UTC-7 (west coast time of North America), I would suggest that
possibly this problem affects more people than origin
ignore my previous comment: I now get it (42115 in Dapper affected
more people than 66028 in Edgy...)

On an Edgy RC (+ latest updates), when you select the Ubuntu Lagoon
background, the preview of the background you get corresponds to the
Lagoon background similar to the one in Dapper, but the actual
background it selects seems to be like Dapper's Ubuntu Simple
background.

I still get that error in edgy. It´s occuring using the gnome
dictionary applet, not with the gnome-dictionary stand-alone
application. It was also the applet that I tested in Dapper in my
previous comment.

After an install of Edgy Knot-1 (plus all the more recent updates) on my
Dell Laptop, direct rendering is off. This is a regression from Dapper
and older Ubuntu version.
This is with the i810 driver. The interesting lines in my Xorg log
