Okay, Ubuntu enables firefox gstreamer by default.
To troubleshoot, I would first disable the totem plugin. If Firefox still
misbehaves and leaves mpegaudioparse processes, then I would disable native
gstreamer support (set media.gstreamer.enabled to false).
As for the functionality of gstreamer
I'm also wondering whether you have gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly (or the
gstreamer0.10 fluendo plugin) installed to support mp3.

There is no telling what caused the issue without the relevant log, so
I'm closing the bug.
If the issue occurs again or with a fresh install, please file a new bug
against the pulseaudio package so that relevant logs are collected
automatically.

You've installed AMD's proprietary fglrx/Catalyst driver and it no
longer supports your card. Follow this procedure to restore the open-
source radeon driver:

already fixed upstream and/or in the latest version of Ubuntu.
At any rate, I cannot reproduce this using evolution 3.12.4-0ubuntu1 in
Ubuntu 14.10, so I am

You can look at the changelog and see who is involved in the
packaging/maintaining.
If you don't want to do the bit of work to request SRU, then you
obviously don't care enough about seeing the bug fixed in older
versions. Good luck with that attitude...

I suggest trying latest kernel module/driver to make sure it has not

Once you have that done, reload ALSA (or just reboot) and run the following
command to gather the logs:
