Ok, here you have my /var/log/installer. I installed ubuntu alongside
windows 8 and then reinstalled ubuntu which erased everything including
efi and recovery partitions and made it's own efi partition and swap at
the end of the disk. If you need any more logs you have ~1,5h, then I'm
giving it to

Please save /var/log/installer if you still can, it may be needed because it
was needed in the bug report I've written which is marked as a duplicate of
this bug now.

In 1-2 weeks I'm going to give my laptop for repair and before this I will want
to wipe all my data so I can then reproduce the bug and give the logs if there
is no other person that can do it.

This bug also exists in Ubuntu 13.10 and it removed all partitions on my
laptop including recovery (which contained Windows 8 recovery files) and
created ~500MB efi partition, ext4 taking almost whole disk and ~8GB
swap at the end. I'm now unable to install Windows 8 again as I lost
recovery partit

have chosen this option "Erase Ubuntu 13.10 and reinstall" (with text
"Warning: This will delete all your Ubuntu 13.10 programs, documents,

I wanted to reinstall ubuntu on my laptop. Here is the partition table
as I remember before the installation:
1. 100MB - EFI
2. 900MB - windows8 recovery partition with label "Recovery"
3. ~150GB - windows 8
4. ~130-150GB - Ubuntu
5. ~300MB - another recovery partition which
I discovered a method to get your windows back in (almost) legal way if
you don't have any recovery media. The product key for preinstalled
