I have my laptop set to auto standby when I close the lid. However, I am
still in the habit of clicking the standby button before closing the
lid. When I do this, after I resume and log in the system goes into
standby again, I assume because it delays the first standby in orde
if I want to upload.
However, if I click no and continue editing, subsequent saves do not
steal focus, even though the File Has Changed dialogue has opened.

configured with my google calendar (not behind a proxy), and I can view

and get it to find the authentication types, suggesting it was using the

I definitely agree. This is a very developed and fun game. I know a lot
of people who choose not to switch to Ubuntu because of the lack of good
FPS's. I know there are good games like nexiuz and such, but most people
prefer realistic FPS games like Urban Terror. I don't think the file
size matters

In /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01PulseAudio, I noticed that the output of
the function get_pulse_users() was returning my user ID as a number, not
as the name of the user. Further down, that's used in the "sudh -H -u"
commands, but sudo will only take a number UID if you enclose it in

I'm having the same problem on a Epia Nano-ITX N5000E LVDS motherboard.
I can't get past the time zone selection step. I got the spinning
cursor when I selected Forward. I waited a while and found that the
machine is still responsive. I can now select other time zones from the

3. Stop all the vmware daemons, for vmware server this can be done with

The part about no autodetection is at least partially correct, I do not know
that the savage drivers were or were not ever installed. In my own case (see
below) installing the driver also
IMHO, proper and adequate detection and support of all possible hardware
on a system is a huge problem that M$ solves by requiring that HW
vendors supply (at their own cost) the necessary SW to go w/ their HW.
After I committed myself to further comment, I decided that this is not
the proper venue
Using "aptitude" on AMD Turion x2 (doesn't appear to be relevant) laptop
w/ no fixed domain (internet by WiFi only) + Intrepid I got a similar

Seems this package wants its host to have a real hostname which can be

Just wanted to chime in that my NWZ-A816 also stopped working going from
7.10 to 8.04. The blue "Connecting" graphic freezes. I have no
knowledge to add, but hopefully the more people that report that more

I too am experiencing this on an Acer Ferrari 4005.
It occurs every few seconds, and ends up filling up dmesg completely.
I have attached an output of "sudo lspci -vv".
All of this ws captured without the broadcom (bcm43xx) module loaded.

I have also experienced this bug. From what I gather, it only seems to
happens when using a compositing window manager with the proprietary
nvidia driver. It also seems that you can work around it by enabling
HWCursor as described in the following thread.

After using this for a few days, I've determined that enabling HWCursor
does not actually fix the problem. At least not long term. It actually
seems as though HWCursor has been switched off (although it is still
enabled in my xorg.conf) I'm not exactly sure how HWCursor works,

I'm seeing a similar problem on my laptop (i885GM) -- after resume,
textures are all black. I discovered that if I start a second X session
and close out of it again, textures work again. I even confirmed that

Seems I fixed my own problem. After doing an strace on evolution as it
crashes, I found the last thing it does is access some icons from my
icon theme. After changing my theme to something else, Evolution starts
working again and no more floating-point exceptions.

I've attached the backtrace. The theme I'm using is gTangish-2.0al,
available from http://www.4shared.com/file/21985420/a036aed9/gTangish-
20a1tar.html. I've found the problem using gTango 1.0 from gnome-
look.org as well (the Human theme is not affected by this).
