I can confirm this bug as well. As a workaround, if you right click the
message and choose open message it seems to work. Bu then I disabled the
calendar add-on(Lightning) and it seemed to solve the problem.

The crash is no longer happening. I have tried several times to
reproduce it both from the command line and from Control Center and I
can no longer do it.
