I believe we saw this on an intel Emerald Ridge box w/ 40 cores recently
as well with the latest Oneiric while at the OpenStack summit. This is
actually one of Canonical's spare kernel build machines, and should be
directly available for testing.

This seems like a legitimate problem. I spent a little while trying to
see an easy solution but the build process for this package is *really*
complex, so hopefully the Debian maintainers can help sort it out. Seems
to be as far as I can take it, so marking Triaged and Medium, as this
only affects
Task opened for Precise. Its really up to Till if its worth the time to
backport the fix. This is definitely the kind of hardware enablement fix
that we tend to push for in LTS releases though.
