It's the same for me. i have an Alfa awus036h but the native Linux
driver (rtl8187) sucks, so i use ndiswrapper. When i try to connect
there's a system crash and the message that appear tells me that the
kernel may become unstable. I'm desperate, cause i really need
ndiswrapper to work!

After using autologin a lot of programs have no border and shadow.
They also cant be resized any more.

Feedback: I can see that the old (ubuntu version) is out and the staging
(0.17) is activated. Once I have compiled the at76_usb module from the
staging tree myself and tested it successfully. But this jaunty kernel
doesn't work properly on an/my intrepid system (another wlan driver
fails too).

I tried to revert back to mine (I was using a random selection in login
screens), but discovered that the login preferences menu is no longer available
in System -> Admi

Im having this same issue on my Ubuntu Firefox 3.0.3, when I try my
company's web access under Firefox 3.0.3 on Windows XP, it works great,
I can open conversation and chat with out problems, but on Ubuntu im
only seeing the contact lists, and I can not talk to anyone.. I can only

Did you try removing the existing connection entry and create a brand
new one?
This worked for me. NM prompted me for the password and the new
connection is now persistent (i.e. is not lost on reboot)

Ok, with "managed=true" NM now correctly detects my connection as
online.
However I'm not able to set up dns and default domain in NM, when I
click on "OK" I got the "read only" error message.
What I did therefore is seeting up dns on /etc/resolv.conf

localhost via ssh:

and then launch
