Since about two weeks, from time to time, I get weird issues with displaced
windows when restoring or switching to thunderbird or firefox via clicking the
launcher. Symptoms are just like in this bug. I haven't found a reproducible
triggering sequence yet, though.

I got this bug, too. in fact, pretty often it's impossible to get to the
contact list when it's closed.
When I got one chat window open, clicking on empathy in the messaging menu does
nothing.
