I apologize, but my cropping of the video was not very good. The applet
does not update correctly. I was also selecting "Invisible", but it
would switch to "away".
Also, if I change the status with Empathy, the same bug happens.
I just tried it with pidgin.
That seems like it makes sense, but the problem is that AIM (which is
the protocol used) DOES support these. I'm actually using the indicator-
applet right now in Karmic and it works just fine with Pidgin. However,
this bug happens if I try to do it with empathy in Karmic.

This is not a good idea.
If someone is looking for ichat or AIM, promoting an "ichat-like"
program is hardly acceptable, especially when most of these programs try
hard not to be like the counterparts. If someone needs a scanning
program, one may simply search for "scan pdf" or similar.

I have been thinking about desktop effects and how they're set up:
Metacity just has a simple None/Normal/Extra setting for those that just

reproduce for me:
I have two windows, both showing. I minimize them with the applet.
Afterwards, I bring one of the windows up, leaving the other minimized.
If I click on the minimize button again, it will un-minimize all windows
I just switched from Compiz to Metacity.
The behavior works as it should with Metacity. This is a Compiz bug.

I like maximized applications, and I especially like maximized space for
searching and browsing through software through add/remove and Synaptic.
With the Software Store, it always starts as a rather small box. For

The way I see it, unmount is an unfamiliar term to people. as an action,
unmount pops imagery pertaining to stepping off or climbing off
something (like a horse). Wheras Eject implies shooting out or removal.

For those that don't like glxgears, I ran Nexuiz fullscreen on Ultra
high quality with Unredirect both on and off.
Both ran at an average of 20 FPS. I did not notice any difference at all
in performance. In other words, both options sucked majorly, considering
this card should be able to more than

I chanced across a drive that someone else was throwing away.
I'm going to throw the ASUS out as the bug seems to not affect anyone
else. My new drive is not affected. Perhaps it was a hardware issue.

I didn't check because there was only one update on Asus' site for the
firmware, and it was released in 1999. The drive came from a computer
that is from 2004, so I'd assume that it has the latest.

I played Deus Ex through wine a few weeks ago perfectly fine with
Unredirect set to false. Of course, that's an outdated game, but I
haven't had any problems graphically since I first disabled it when
Jaunty came out. I've also played some tremulous as well. I'm on an
NVidia 8600GT
