To add to my experience, I'll say that system failure does not happen
every time, but I find my system more unreliable when I resume. I am
using the restriced NVidia 185 drivers and Compiz.
The horrible experience is just doing any task at all when the failures

I have been going without suspend for a while.
I decided to try it again last night, and upon waking it up, I was
presented with a blank screen with only a cursor. I sysrq + k'ed to kill
my X session, but it never reloaded itself. It just became completely
black, and a hard reset was required.

One thing I've noticed since I've changed to deadline is that when I get
to the GDM login screen, it's significantly less responsive. Today, it
actually took about 15 seconds before I could type in my login and
password.

It has an ATI card with the Open-source drivers.
Compiz is activated, and "Unredirect Windows" is unticked.

I'm not a heavy gamer, and I'm not a professional graphics artist. I

In Jaunty when I unmounted a usb drive through Gnome, a dialog popped up
asking me if I would like to empty the trash of this device.
In Karmic, I don't see this dialog anymore, and as a result I ended up

I noticed that when searching those two key words, I got every recorder
but the most popular one. It should be made that gtk-recordmydesktop
shows up when searching with those words, as it is not only in the title
but also the sole purpose

I updated the description on the gnome-buglist. No-one's even
acknowledged it. Someone just give a few comments confirming in there or
something :).
