I'm running the mythtv-fixes for Ubuntu 8.04 -- 20324, I have xscreensaver
enabled on my box for mythtv in general -- so when I'm at a menu and idle
for 20 mins it comes on, but when I'm watching a video or tv, it doesn't.

I tried the referenced behavior and wasn't able to reproduce this error.
(I'm using the same version of thunar, by the way). I added /usr/bin,
/usr/share, and /, but thunar had no difficulty switching between them
rapidly.

I have just upgraded my girlfriend's computer (a Dell Inspiron 6000)
from Gutsy to Hardy. When she closes the lid, it goes to sleep just
fine, and when opening the lid back up again, it appears to wake up, but
the screen never turns back on. I've tried a few things (switching
After further experimentation, it turns out that this only happens when
suspending by closing the lid; if I suspend by using the power button on
the gnome panel, the power button on the laptop, the Function-Suspend
key combination, or '/etc/acpi/sleep.sh force', it suspends and resumes

Alt-F1-10, with no luck. If I put the computer back to sleep using the

i don't think your firmware is loading. you need to use userspace tools
to do that now... ala iSight-firmware-tools

I think that is wrong. the newer versions of uvcvideo require another
tool to load firmware (it was being patched before). i-f-t allows this
to be done out of kernelspace.
