data); I will wait for apport-retrace to finsih its magic, but it seems
the issue is on SQLite (top-of-stack shows a lot of SQLite calls).

I can confirm this on Karmic, same ytree version. Running ytree, and
pressing Enter just once on the top directory causes ytree to die with a
SIGABRT. Memory mis-management?

OK, I found what goes on. On Hardy Evolution (and, specifically,
Evolution-data-server, the package affected by this) is at version
2.22.3. The first part of the fix (SVN commit 8619 upstream) for this
was released on 2.22.3, but the second part (SVN commit 8625) -- adding
the _FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64
evolution-data-server - 2.22.3-0ubuntu4~ppa1 is available on my PPA

Lars, can you please open a new bug on that? I would like to see a
stacktrace on it. You will need to enable apport: before trying to
reproduce the issue:
sudo force_start=1 /etc/init.d/apport restart
then try to start Evolution. When you get the segfault, apport should
kick in and ask you to fil

went into a sequence of reinstall/reboot/uninstall/reboot, and at one
point removed 'grub' instead of 'grub2' -- as such completely destroying
my case...

Laurent, thanks, but bug 385263 seems to be a real duplicate of this
one.
Unless... you *did* apply Ted's fix, and it still fails... in this case
I really need a new bug, with a new stacktrace, so that we can follow
the code and see if it is still a special case of this one, or a brand
new issue.

Another point: after apport-retrace successfully finishes processing a
bug (i.e., it *does* generate good backtraces), would it be a good idea
to delete the original Stacktrace & ThreadStacktrace? If not, we will
have to consider all four of them -- the originals and the '(retraced).
