station only after playing another station.
If I try to play my 'favorite' station first, I can't, and a "plugin
missing" error appears.

with the info of the last song in the WKNC station. Doesn't change

I just tried linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r) from ppa with lucid
problem still persists with all recent updates. Digital output is
showing under aplay -l but you can get any output switching in sound
preferences to any of the digital outputs.

I have noticed that the unexpected disconnect from boot status daemon
error is associated with the message "switching to color frame buffer
device." The latter seems to cause the problem whereby one cannot use
alt+ctl+Fx to drop into a shell. I am going to try to boot with the

Now in Lucid this is happening on my new laptop with nvidia drivers. So
I'm at a loss I don't think its a intel thing. I think it has to do with
gnome power manager or whatever is supposed to turn the monitor back on.

Using Kubuntu 9.10 alternate CD.
First time, I encrypted using manual partition during install, which creates
/etc/crypttab and /etc/fstab entries for /home and swap.
Same issues on boot, kdm refuses to accept the password, no matter how many
times entered.

There is no copyleft symbol in gnome character map. Copyleft is the
basic principle of all GNU/Linux distros. Try to make copyleft symbol
for gnome character map.

Seems to work -- I can see my friends now.
There is still the issue that when you post, it marks your post as
coming from the web, rather than "KDE Twitter," which is what it used to
be...but I suppose this is a separate bug?

I'm only commenting on this post for those guys at the end of their pitiful
ropes.
My Sony Vaio was effected by this after an upgrade to 2.6.31-14-generic and I
tried every suggestion from this site and ubuntu

short, the ultimate fix was to unplug my machine, remove the battery and
go play guitar for 30 minute

Uname incorrect: the auto process shows 2.6.24-24-rt because I had to revert to
this to get network operational.
Problem is with 2.6.24-25-rt.

Use of network (WWW via Firefox (3.5), or Update Manager) causes complete
system lockup when running on my system with kernel 2.6.24.25-rt. This was
repeatable. The system appears to be fine using 2.6.24.24-rt.
There was no response to keyboard or mouse, the screen was not
2.6.24-25-generic appears to be ok, but problem remains when using
2.6.24-25-rt

Not much information, really. I'm not sure this is a bug because
Synaptic did what I wanted (installed Kivio). Kivio works correctly as
far as I can tell.
Note, this is a newly upgraded machine using 9.10. The machine was
first loaded with 8.1
