I too have this problem. I've recently upgraded both a laptop (using ath5k) and
a PC (wired network) from 8.04.
The PC works fine.
On the laptop; I had reason to go into the new network manager, which
looks great but when I try to enter DNS servers for wlan0 and save, I am
shown an error dialog:

I am however able to access password protected windows shares by using

.bashrc in my home folder. I copied the one from /etc/skel/.bashrc to my
/home/ and everything runs as expected.

If Pidgin doesn't know whether the certificate is valid or not, you
could be vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack by blindly accepting
it (at least that's my understanding). Mind you, accepting it yourself
without any other knowledge would be no worse than what Pidgin was doing
before version 1

path to place the login.live.com certificate (or any other certificate you want
Pidgin to accept per-user) is

[intrepid] Dolpin Crash in KDirModelPriva
It is not possible to include the patch in KDE 4.1?
I reported for now some BUGS where dolphin crashed, and nobody can FIX
this bugs for the Intrepid Ibex release?
No updated KDE 4.1 packages and no Backport from KDE 4.2 results in a
really pure unstable system!

In Jaunty I can connect to the internet and include "pon dsl-provider" in the
scripts
in Karmic, it does not recognize the pppoe dsl connection, even after doing

zones do not work by moving finger up or down on the right hand side
of the touchpad
c. the pointer freezes at apparently random places in various applications -
nothing seems to be able to free it and the computer needs a reboot to recover.

I have the same problem, except using Kubuntu Karmic with kernel
2.6.30-8-generic and no fglrx or other proprietary drivers.
The system freezes at apparently random time and any application with the num
light illuminating, Nothing can unfreeze it. Only power off.
