I have found a regression in the panel applet CPU Fire Applet, in
reference to Jaunty. In CPU Fire Applet, mousing over the flame supposed
to show the CPU usage, which doesn't work in Karmic. Also, more serious,
Indeed, in Lucid Beta 2 it is still a problem...I think it has to do
something with Pulseaudio being killed too soon. Very annoying that this
bug has been in Jaunty, Karmic, and now Lucid!

I've found a solution. A real one.
It seems that it's a problem with Network Manager. People who have
routers with gateways will make Network Manager incorrectly set the DNS
to the router's internal address. This only works if everything is set
to automatic. If you set the DNS manually in Network
Craig100,
You are using OpenDNS, yes? Your secondary DNS IP is incorrect, it's not
208.68.220.220, it's 208.67.220.220.
See OpenDNS's homepage, http://www.opendns.com/ . At the bottom there,
is their nameservers.

Put an update on this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1466944
To summarize what I said so far, I have bad DSL line quality (uncanceled
echo) that's making my router flip out and randomly drop the connection.
This also appears to be causing this problem with apt-get update,
through
faortiz,
This sounds like a totally different issue there, ignoring repositories.
In this bug, apt doesn't ignore them but has difficulty resolving them.
Also, it seems you've dist-upgraded from Karmic to Lucid...this is most
likely a factor. Try a fresh install of Lucid.

Getting 1.6-1 from Debian unstable doesn't work for me, in Karmic. It
has a dependency that breaks a package, specifically libfontconfig1. It
needs 2.8.0, and breaks 2.6.0. Well, libfontconfig1 needs fontconfig-
config, which is what actually breaks it, but that's besides the point.

When using the workspace switcher applet, if I create more than one

Also persists in Karmic Beta! At least on my machine, what with it's
Pentium D and 8500GT. I don't think there's anything else that is
affected in notify-osd, as I haven't come across any other notification
that responds to input like volume-control.
I don't really think this is a graphical issue,
I think the way to solve all this usability brouhaha would be to allow
the notification to be dragged around and have it be anywhere the user
wants it, and all subsequent notifications will appear in the same place
the original one was before it faded out.
Just my two-hundredths of a dollar.
