I tried doing an install of Intrepid on my Apple iBook2 (dual-usb,
500MHz G3, PowerPC, 384MiB memory) and ran into this same problem where
the CD-ROM could not be found.

investigating. It appears that the ia64 build of 2.6.25-2.3 failed

Yes, it appears like partman is trying to run tune2fs on a drive and not
a partition. Running tune2fs manually on /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 returns the
proper results.
BTW, the installer appears to try and run tune2fs even if there aren't
any partitions on the disk too. The hardy installer hand

device and baud rate using the TIOCGSERIAL ioctl.
