No, Conky works, but Lua Rings configuration file doesn't work in any
Ubuntu flavor since 15.04 & above. But regarding MATE, Ubuntu MATE 14.04.2
seems to be misbehaving for some reason. I'll look into it & report a bug
later.

I have no idea. I don't know Lua programming but I'm learning it. I use
lua-rings with conky, or I guess I used to back when I was using Trusty.
But in Wily I tried out installing Lua-rings 1.3.1 & it seemed to correct
things. But there is still a catch. As I use conky-manager to run my conky
