my Edgy NFS server (exported home dirs for automount by clients) I am
getting Permission denied errors for just some files:

Nothing new appears in my kern.log when this happens. :-( There is
nothing in my kern.log about NFS at all. The only thing in there
regarding any filesystem activity it loads of:

I'm on Karmic with nvidia-glx-185 185.18.36-0ubuntu9+ppa2 and seeing
this quite a bit. I have to manually refresh windows using the title
bar to roll them up and then down again.
Is this supposed to be fixed in Karmic or is it still a known issue?

Yeah, and the upstream bug is moribund unfortunately (much like this
one). The reporter was asked for information, provided it and then
nothing more was done with it.

Ever since having enabled compiz (i.e. desktop effects) on my Karmic
machine today, I am noticing that some particular windows won't raise
when clicked in. In particular, so far I have discovered this is the
case with Nautilus windows as well as P
I suppose this can be closed as I am now running 2.6.31-20-generic and
don't really have any interesting in back-revving to debug this.
