I've just been playing with the lucid beta iso and this happened again.
The mouse was frozen after mousing over (I think not clicking) the
restricted hardware notifier. Switching VCs again fixed it. New apport

Actually, scratch that, my test was with suspend. But hibernate isn't
available from the menu, so I guess thats a partial fix anyway. Not sure
if I'll get round to trying with a full installation.

It happened again. I'm not so convinced its metacity and not the X
server.
I had two instances of the deadlocked program. I clicked on one close
box, got the force quit dialog, clicked on force quit, and got a frozen
display. The force quit button was still pressed.
