While I don't test this patch my personal expectation is that a working desktop has higher priority than 3D performance. I can't imagine the outcry if a "fix" is presented via (K)Ubuntu's update mechanism which hampers 3D performance, though. -- [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card
