GRUB and software raid issue

After installation of 11.04 ( server or alternate CD ) MBR has no GRUB. Chroot
method did not help.,
root@ubuntu:/# sudo grub-install /dev/sda
Installation finished. No error reported.
but MBR has no boot after.
I found only one way how to fix:
1) Boot
