I've had the same problem - no Ctrl keys working in Remmina and in VirtualBox as well. Now Ctrl works again in both applications after I disabled the "mouse ping" function: System -> Preferences -> Mouse -> Show position of pointer when Ctrl key is pressed in the host Found the soulution here -
