Just to be sure, you guys did run that script in singe user mode, right
(boot in "recovery mode", then choose root shell)? Thunderbird asked for
the nvclock -D to be run before X is started. (All of the other dumps
can be gotten normally, but the nvclock -D is special)

I can confirm that this bug affects me on Jaunty 64bit. After compiling
mutt from source and linking with openssl instead of gnutls, the problem
goes away. So it's definitely a bug in gnutls.

I have this problem as well. It is not specific to democracynow.org: I
have the problem with any flash content I attempt to view in Firefox
when I have started Banshee first. I have to quit Banshee and restart
Firefox to get sound back in Firefox.
I am using Hardy and Banshee 1.0 from the Banshee
One more note: if I start up Firefox first, watch a video or something,
and then close the tab with that video, if I then start up Banshee, then
it has sound.
(I'm guessing Banshee is doing something bad here, but I don't know what
that is.)

I followed the instructions at that forum post, except I didn't install
the patched version of SDL, and it seems to work like a charm. I even
have sound in winecfg (without using padsp!), but I haven't tried
running any of the games I have installed under Wine yet. I assume if
sound works in winecf
First off thanks to everyone contributing to this bug, I've found the
information very helpful, especially to Shawe since without those

All of the scripts in my tarball are based on yours. I'm not sure why
you have trouble opening it, I can open it fine with tar on the command
line and with Archive Manager. I did remake it and reuploaded it, just
in case. I've also made just a tar:

pci.product_id = 1036 (0x40c) (int)
linux.hotplug_type = 2
through the standard kernel interfaces? (If so, do you have a way we
could do that? I'm not much of a hardware hacker, I'm afraid.)

Public bug reported:
I have Caps Lock remapped to Control using the Gnome keyboard
preferences. When I plug in an external keyboard, (in this case, a
Microsoft Natural Keyboard), the mapping no longer works, and caps lock
on the external keyboard works as a caps lock key, not as a control key.

While hald does claim to be running as root, I don't know what
privileges it runs the scripts with.
If I put the old smartdimmer 0.8b4 (without the detection logic), my
brightness keys work fine.

It does indeed look like it's missing BIOS info. Interestingly enough, I
get the same behavior if I use the 0.8b4 version of nvclock, but its
smartdimmer works from hald because it ignores the fact that it can't
look it up.

I have a b/g router and I see the problem regularly, so it's not that.
However, it might have something to do with certain router models. I
have a Netgear WGR614v8 (WGR614L).

I see this same problem on 9.10, and the apt-get is running in the
background as well. When the apt-get finishes, update manager will
install the updates with no problems, no restart is necessary.

I can confirm that for me, using TKIP causes the problem. Sadly, I had
to switch back to TKIP from AES, since my router's performance with AES
is abysmal.
