I have restarted Ubuntu and follow the instruction.
After plug modem, I tried to connect WIthout success.
I tried several time... Still without luck

There is many ways of improve.
It is really easy to implement Backlight Toggles, and it is huge improvement
for my friend (he tested it about one month).
Of course it is also good idea to change the default theme, to be more
readable.
Is any chance to make this changes (even small improvements)

After installation Ubuntu 12.04 Precise on VIA architecture (xserver-
xorg-video-openchrome driver, without DRI support and software rendering
- "swrast"), the default Shell interface is Unity. It is works terribly
slow, and there is display glitches (windows do not disappear,
I tested "ports" branch on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric and it seems work.
I will test it further, and attach debug logs.
By the way: I cannot build on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise. It display
warnings/errors:

I would like to implement this feature in Unity-2d.

The modemmanager 0.5.1.97~0ubuntu1 works much better for me on Ubuntu Precise
(12.04).
