With Intrepid Ibex, cards are automounted (FAT 16 and FAT32).

I can't test the new kernel on Feisty.
I'm on Hardy Heron now.
As on Feisty, the automount of the SD card High Capacity in FAT32 is enabled on
Hardy (I don't remember if FAT16 card can be mounted).
But it takes a very very long time to copy files : after each large file

On my Ricoh reader, my SD Card 2Go is recognized only if formatted in FAT32.
" sudo fdisk -l " will tell you if your card is actually FAT16 or FAT32.
Try to format yours (with Windows) in FAT32. Maybe it will work.
