I can confirm the problem here. Upgraded from intrepid to jaunty (on
amd64) and folding stopped autostarting.
I had origami remove the FaH install, i removed the symlinks from init,
and purged origami. Reinstalled it, same problem.
I don't want to do a full reinstall just to get this working (if

Same problem here on a 64bit hardy install with an AMD Sempron processor
(family 15).
If nobody has checked yet, I'll probably try doing a 32bit install and
see if that kernel's module recognizes the hardware properly (I get the
feeling it does, else there'd probably be more bug reports, but that'

I get the same, or a very very similar, problem with an amd64 install on
a Gateway MX7515 with a broadcom 4318 wireless chipset and the

nm-applet sometimes shows that it connects to a wireless network but

My mistake, i meant to say the 2.6.24-16-generic kernel.

Binary package hint: network-manager
Note: I use a bcm4318 card, and this is speaking from a gutsy install
(though most of it applies to earlier releases) on a Gateway MX7515
The first time network manager tries to connect while using the bcm43xx
driver, it succeeds. However
The bcm43xx module included in ubuntu's -generic kernel (with firmware

I've tested it with ndiswrapper as well, which does work as expected.
Both bcm43xx and ndiswrapper seem to configure fine from the terminal.
I have also tested it with a 64bit build of ubuntu installed. No

Happens here as well with alpha 3, on amd64.
On this end, in addition to the message, a few other things happen. The
system occasionally seems to hang at the mostly blank screen until
switching to a VT and then back to X cause it to display the GDM login
prompt. Which crashes after about 3 keystro
Just wanted to confirm that this is still an issue (at least on my end)
Also, it's yet another CPU family: 6 GenuineIntel system. Seems like
there's a pattern.
