I see a similar situation, the only difference is that for me only the
preferences dialog hangs. Wonder if this is because I have a two-core
processor. When the problem happens one of the CPUs goes to 100%, but
the other one is still available. I think I can reproduce the problem

There is no way
System monitor has some functionality to show command lines. This is a bug that
it does not handle long command lines:
1) big command lines do not fit in the tooltip and are just truncated by screen
width
2) big command lines are truncated by "Arguments" column width if I choose to
show it.

Hello, having the same problem on my Acer V5 Laptop.
I could manage to enable my Bluetooth / Wireless Combo adapter by using Fn + F3.
The only thing that doesnt work is browsing for devices.
It simply doesnt list any device in the Applet.

So I tried to reproduce the issue and I am now sure that installing all updates
on the fresh 12.10 install brings a black picture to the webcam on my Acer

I have similar problem on T23 since Dapper - hibernate was one-way-to-
power-cycle and suspend had been mixed experience (sometimes Ok,

I have same problem after latest kernel upgrade few days ago.
after load is done, it looks like this in logs

that almost 100% exact bug 460851 has been duped to this, so I followed
and made bug 519371 also duped here. Now...
On second thought I'm not sure whether it was exactly same reason. I
mean - _probably_ bug 519371 and bug 4608

I have exactly the same problem.
Firstly I've installed Ubuntu from a USB stick. The stick was written with
alternate iso using USB Startup Disk Creator. At this point Ubuntu was working
fine but ignored all USB stick I inserted. But, I had exactly the same issue
with Fedora 12 (http://forums.

I have the same problem fixed on my tablet-pc.
Symptoms was : error **GLIB WARNING ** GLib - getpwuid_r(): failed due to

Fresh installation of Karmic beta. GRUB2 did not found Jaunty and Fedora 11.
All 3 distros have separate /boot partitions:
sda1 - Jaunty;
sda2 - F11;
sda3 - Karmic.
All 3 distros have encrypted / (root) partitions which reside on logical
volumes.
