While changing my password, i hit CTRL-D at one of the inputs, and the
program crashed after all password prompts had been cleared:

Hey, I can reproduce this bug with the version of pidgin that just went into
gutsy
ii pidgin 1:2.2.0-0debuntu1 multi-protocol instant messaging client
This also presents for the MSN protocol as well.
Essentially, what's happening is that /usr/lib/purple-2/ssl-nss.so from
the 'pidgin'
Oops. My bug report may not be too useful.
I just realised I was using pidgin 2.2.0 packages from a third party
distribution. Current Gutsy Pidgin packages, 2.1.x work fine for me
(although my problem may help shed some light on the original reports
problem)

I've been able to reproduce these results as well with my Lenovo 3000
N100.
acpi=ht caused audio output to operate normally. (i promptly near
deafened myself because the mic boost and input levels were at max, and
it caused a massive feedback loop :) )
