I am experiencing the same issue (system freeze while running google
chrome) on Thinkpad X60s, Ubuntu 10.04 - I'm also running ath5k, lspci
shows an "03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc.

I installed the April 29th lucid 10.04 release and was affected by this
on a Thinkpad T43. The bios fix of disabling legacy floppy drives worked
for me. The bug also caused constantly on hard drive i/o light, and
constant probing of (non-existent) fd0 after boot - this is fixed with
the bios fix.
After removing ath5k using:
sudo modprobe -r ath5k
Chrome runs without system freezes.

Is lxc 0.8.0 going to be updated into Precise? This bug is pretty
annoying; and while I appreciate there is a workaround, it seems adding
an extra config entry to lxc-excute invocation just to avoid an apparmor
failure is a bit much to ask of users.

Powertop fails to repor
I would note in passing that this bug started as "It would be nice to
have Eclipse 3.6 in Maverick" which was filed over a year ago when all
Ubuntu had was an outdated 3.5.2 package. We never did get a 3.6
package, so everyone I know has been downloading binaries from
eclipse.org - which is obvious
I'm experiencing this on Precise. It also applies to resuming from
suspend. Having to remember NOT to plug in your modem before turning on
your computer is tedious.

Using `do-release-upgrade` failed with this error, as did a subsequent
`apt-get dist-upgrade`. We have hit this on 11 machines both servers and
desktops, none of which have been able to upgrade from Lucid to Precise.
