If you have a modem whose switching is normally working successfully by
usb_modeswitch, installing wader-core prevents it from functioning.
After turning on debugging in usb_modeswitch it can be seen that after
installation of wader-core usb-modeswitch no longer finds the corr

There is no log to add as if the kernel is missing the vm86() syscall,
i.e. it is not compiled in, dosemu falls back automatically to the much

I also note that Ctrl-C does not cause the test program to exit in
12.04, only a kill -9 will terminate it; on 11.10 Ctrl-C will exit just
fine, this may be related to #943598 who also use the glib2(gtk) loop.

This seems to have broken the device detection in the Wader-Core Modem
Manager implementation. It works fine in 11.10 but not in 12.04 alpha 2
dist-upgraded on 2012-03-08. I've attached a test case that demonstrates
the problem and a log file each from the two distro versions.
As an additional note I ran the same test program in the standard
reactor and it was fine, the problem seems to occur under gtk2, gtk3, gi
and glib2 reactors only. It may be connected to the massive reactor
refactoring patch that Ubuntu is carrying, see

I removed the indication that the bug affects Wader, I had wrongly
believed that this meant the Wader package was adversely affected by the
problem in Twisted(which it is), rather than to indicate that Wader
contains this same bug(which it doesn't), sorry for the noise!

Is fixed by the new package 11.1.0-1ubuntu2, which was related to
935756. Happy to close.
