SciTE in ubuntu 18.04 has the Lua library embedded, and compiled without
dynamic libraries enabled. This makes it impossible to load Lua modules
which is in the dynamic library on SciTE >= 4.0, when it started using
Lua 5.3.
On later versions (SciTE >= 4.1.0) I have built Lua

I just installed allegro on a Mint 20 in virtualbox, the version of
Allegro you get from the repositories is 2:5.2.6.0-1, without the ~focal
version addition, and this is the one from Ubuntu, and in it's turn the
Debian packaged one.
The version with ~focal comes from somewhere else, so not a

It still could be that your project doesn't use pkg-config properly -
you probably need something like `pkg-config --cflags --libs
allegro_audio-5` for the compiler to find the include folder.

[ Where problems could occur ]
Bug (and fix) affects only geeqie - if there's regressions, they are
limited to Geeqie, and should only appear related to the original report
(which this fixes), so a regression would be that it crashes for other
reasons when doing the switch of visibility
(I am the provider of the fixed geeqie package).
Test plan: Start geeqie, simply press Ctrl+H. With the fixed package it
doesn't crash, otherwise it crashes.
My full test:
Running noble, starting geeqie and then hiding the file list by
pressing Ctrl+H, geeqie crashes with a backtrace.
