I've tried to open the Alacarte, but it doesn't open, the loading bar
appeare, but the program never opens, i realy need to use the menu
manager, but I jus't can't open it. My ubuntu is the 7.10.

Something similiar is happening to me, except I can't get into Ubuntu at
all because my keyboard doesn't work to sign in. This started just after
I upgraded to Intrepid. There were some issues updating so I had to
boot through recovery mode to finish upgrading. Could this have been the
issue?

I think I fixed my problem. It seems to be working anyways, and I've
restarted and left it running a few times to see if it would stop. I
ended up editing xorg.conf to include the keyboard section on the end,
it didn't have one before (I just got the standard words off wikipedia).

I've typed sudo before alacarte on the terminal this opens. Thank you.

I followed all of the setup steps, but was still encountering the ping
timeout issue at reboot. I then ran the script

hitting the issue. Was the script supposed to fix the issue? Please let

when it was happening, it happened with all software, but I was able to
resovlve it by removing the GeometryWidth and GeometryHeight
designations in gtkfilechooser.ini, as described at:

The gedit open button has a pulldown menu that used to show recently
opened documents. Lately, it shows "no items found" despite the fact
that I've been using it plenty. Where did my recent documents go?

I'm also seeing this -- I don't generally use Evolution, though I tried
one more time to troubleshoot problems with my UbuntuOne contact sync so
I opened it. Now e-addressbook-factory is using 60-70 % of my CPU (it
varies). I don't understand why it is using so much CPU.
