Hi. I have a similar problem, with a simple JetFlash usb drive.
After adding it with usb_add, "info usb" shows nothing and I start getting the
following message in the console:

I have added my collection to shotwell over samba, without copying it.
When deleting a picture, even though shotwell asks if you want to remove
the file also, it then just ignores whatever you choose and only removes
it from its own library.

This is not just a problem for skype, if you open gstreamer-properties
and test video with the default Autodetect setting, it will also display
green

The suggested fixe worked fine in Quantal, however after upgrading to
Raring this is broken again, and as hawezet posted you cannot build the
module anymore.

The bug is in the nvidia drivers and actually happens on windows too
with newer drivers.
Currently uninstalled nvidia drivers entirely and trying out nouveau
(xserver-xorg-video-nouveau).
Has worked stable for a month. I don't know how the performance is
affected, but seldomly use 3D anyway.
