I ran into this as well. Examining my system while this is hung, I see
this process running:
"# ps ax | grep whiptail

Secure Boot enabled.
As Jurgen experience in #7, for me, blindly typing passwords (a ton of
times) didn't do anything, but bailing out of this at the command line
and re-running it through Software Updater did the trick for me.

Xorg segfaults on start-up on Bi
I see that the build has completed successfully. I manually fetched and
installed https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-
server/2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.1/+build/10751236/+files/xserver-xorg-
core_1.18.4-0ubuntu0.1_powerpc.deb , and Xorg came to life as expected,
without the segfault.

Can we conditionally NOT apply this to powerpc?

Correction, Timo, I have definitively traced this down to
drm_device_keep_trying.patch. 188_default_primary_to_first_busid.patch
is not the offending patch.

I am also experiencing this issue, on Ubuntu 16.04. gvfsd-smb-browse
uses 100% CPU until I kill it.

Can confirm, I have the same problem. Workaround of 16 bit defaultdepth
is successful, albeit sub-optimal.

Last night, I confirmed that the colors are *correct* with r300g on Big
Endian (tested with an RV515), but still incorrect with r600g, as of
Mesa 11.0.2. Therefore, I have changed the component for this bug from
mesa core to r600.
