I own 2 Linksys WPC54G cards (PCMCIA) with the BCM4318 chipset onboard.
I can install the driver, b43-fwcutter runs auto but after the reboot,
the driver reports "not in use". Tried bcm43xx version. It loads without
error but doesn't seem to work.
Tried the ndiswrapper option but still no results

Sorry Daniel but I can switch the flight mode off and on as many times
as I want without having access to the cellular data switch.
Moreover I insist on the fact the cellular data are active whereas the
switch shows it is off so I don't think it is because the cellular data
function is crashed.

I have solved the problem. The problem was that the original
installation of Ubuntu didn't installed the "Hardware Controllers"
Application. Once I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.27-11 the wl module was
not recognized (authorized) any more. To enable the BCM4312 wireless

I have the very same problem. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 with kernel
2.6.27-11 on a Dell Inspiron 1526. I'm attaching the lspci output and
the lsmod output.

Our freshly installed nfs server (32 bit) crashed twice in 3 days.
Twice the ARECA controller got lost, needing manual fsck at reboot.
It has been working smoothly for more than 1 year with sarge, (with much
heavier load tha
our Configuration is
* bi Xeon HT (4 core total) + 4 GB RAM
* system on one 75 GB ATA disk on onboard controller
* 800 GB reiserfs + 3TB ext3 on ARECA 1120 controller
BOTH reiserfs and ext3 had needed fsck at reboot.

External Amplifier in the AlsaMixer.
If the External Amplifier is not usable with Intel 82801DB-ICH4, then

Ok, i nominated it for Hardy.
Some additionnal remarks about bug management and quality:
1/ The renaming of the bug should not be possible like what happened
here. It was a bug against a package for all release, and suddenly it
changed to a request for removal in next one, which is very different
Impossible to install gforge in Hardy
Install freeze when proftpd is configured as standalone
It leaves the machine in a broken state.
apt-get -f install cannot solve the problems, it hangs.
Need some strong arms tactics to get the machine back in a sane state
(create missing files and dirs
Same problem on Hardy LTS i386 server.
Leaves the machine in an unusable state. `apt-get -f install` is unable
to put the machine back in a sane state.
It needs to dpkg-reconfigure proftpd to be launched by inetd , then apt-
get --force remove gforge_stuff

becomes zero
so all our stats are wrong (in hobbit for example)

Argl ! Maybe its not a bug of the driver, but just a feature of linux 32
bit to count TX on one int (so 32b).
Our 64bit servers gives correct info, and 32 bit are all lower than 4GB
for TX/RX !!!
