1) new kernel 2.6.24-21-generic
2) new NVIDIA GLX drivers
So, I suppose that smth. is wrong with NVIDIA

I have solved this problem by:
sudo aptitude purge preload
So, I think it was preload package that caused this issue with Gnome Keyboard
Layout.
